Sharp deception by traveling con artists in Alma area

Deputy Sheriff A J Hall pursued a woman who posed as Mrs Johnson swindling merchants at Alma and nearby towns. She and a man fled from Clare after attempting to buy clothing and shoes on wheat money, claiming a hotel suit for their son. The pair, described as repeated offenders, are believed to have fled to Shepherd then Clare.
