Iron salvage from hull details and firm actions
The Henry Richinsky & Son firm of Water Street reports cutting and salvaging iron from a hull. About 404 tons of iron and 2.5 tons of brass have been removed and shipped east, with a lead pile also taken. North American Boiler Co will cut beams into seven foot lengths for removal by derrick. The process uses oxyacetylene torches and oxygen jets to heat and cut quickly.
