The Third Annual Ohio Picnic is set for Thursday August 24 at Wm Ardno's grove two miles south and one half mile west of Shep herd. Opening music by Shepherd band at 10 50 am. Events include tug of war bone games and races with prizes for winners.
The Forest Hill Elevator Co incorporated at Forest Hill with Otis A Yost as resident and Elmer A Post as secretary and treasurer. President Otis Post, long a Cleveland Tennessee resident, will move back to Forest Hill in September to lead operations. Supervisor Elmer Post, who oversaw construction, will devote full time to the venture, aiming to serve farmers in Gratiot County’s central agricultural district and provide a solid investment for its stockholders.

De La Geneste, billed as a genius of entertainment, was taken to Alma jail after a 6:30 PM Saturday arrest by a committee including Mayor Mentger and City Marshal Wright. He was searched and placed in a locked cell, with belongings secured, amid a padlocked ban.
A prisoner named De La Gevesto claimed he would remove handcuffs and unlock cell doors to reach Vaudette at the theatre. Within eleven minutes the outer door was locked and the cells opened. in twenty four minutes he appeared on the street ready for the show, having freed himself and the doors. Bystanders numbered in the hundreds.
