Pretty Blanch Wedding at Baptist Church

A six oclock wedding in the Baptist church united the well known couple amid evergreen decor and a lover’s knot arch. The bridal party entered to Lohengrin, with Rev. Blanchard and Rev. Spencer officiating. Guests later gathered at the Blanchard home for a reception before the couple departed for northern travels.

Rural Free Delivery Postmaster General Orders Changes

Washington July 26 Postmaster General Emory Smith issues an order based on rural free delivery superintendents recommendations. Beginning August 1 the one cent drop letter rate will not apply within rural delivery limits. The two cent per ounce rate remains for first class matter except postal cards. Rural carriers will not bring mail collected en route to the post office. Stamps on rural collected mail will be cancelled by carriers with indelible pencils.

The Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Clinton and Gratiot reminds members to keep threshing engines at least thirty feet from stacks and buildings, have four water pails nearby, and a person supervising the engine. Odd Fellows Picnic Seen As Assured Success In Mt Pleasant

The Odd Fellows of central Michigan promote a large Mt Pleasant picnic with expected lodges and parade entries. Six brass bands including the Flint band will perform as crowds gather, with August 22, 100 eyed as a key date and plans for wide participation. A Detroit meeting announced literary work will start immediately and a Roosevelt campaign visit to Michigan is planned for September with three speeches.
