Born in Chantangan county New Jersey he moved to Hilledale and then Seville township where he has lived for many years as a pioneer of Gratiot.
J W Holmes appeals to voters in Michigan's sixth district urging turnout for the August 13 primary to select delegates to the constitutional convention. He touts six years in the legislature, argues for local self-government, fair taxation of wealth and corporate property, and pledges to serve all people with integrity if elected.
