In Arcada township and Alma village a cordial caucus nominated C L Delavan by acclamation for clerk and expressed broad support for the ticket. Delavan’s two years as supervisor are cited as reason for renomination. Ralph J Goodenow and Seth Tubbs led clerk race. Goodenow overtook Tubbs on the second ballot by one vote. Three candidates vied for treasurer. John Rush led with 119 votes, Rollin A Wood 60, William A Howe 6, B A Andrews 5. T A Ely renominated for roads commissioner by acclamation. Palmer named for justice of the peace full term.

Muskrat bounty at Alma Roller Mill Company drew many tail handlers and even older residents. Investigators found river tails heated for miles, killing muskrats in creeks and warshes. With tails worth ten cents and hides twenty five cents, the scheme turned into a profitable business, leading to the halt of the bounty.

Clint Nelson Rearrested on Larceny Charge in Ithaca
Clinton Nelson was rearrested last Saturday by Under Sheriff Baten on a larceny charge. Bail was set at $1,000 in Ithaca and posted. The complaint alleges the harness stolen from cows, previously dismissed by Judge Dodds, with technical points expected to require trial. The Alma Record for ’63 is a winner.
