Tad Thorne in a Boston-bound train misadventure
Tad Thorne a fourteen year old shopworn by loss and poverty seeks warmth and safety in a Broad Street station waiting room. A stern inspector and a bold escape attempt propel him aboard a parlor car where he hides behind a fur cloak. As dawn rises Tad recalls his dead soldier father and mother’s words while pondering his uncertain distant future in Boston and Aunt Rhoda.
