Planetarium shifts focus from tragedy to McAuliffe's life
Jeanne Gerulskis, executive director at the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium, removed the video of the Challenger disaster and now highlights McAuliffe’s life and vision. The center marks her Sept 2 birthday with balloons while Framingham State College unveils a mural and Florida uses a licensed plate to fund space education. Proceeds total over $35 million split between a state tech authority and the Astronaut Memorial Foundation, funding education and space programs nationwide.
