Senators Reject Military Policy Boost for Air Force Funds
In Washington on June 27 Republicans faced a tough fight to block a Democratic push for 960 million in extra Air Force funding. The Senate approved 88 to 0 for the defense bill totaling 34.5 billion, sending it to a conference with the House where some or all of the Senate addition is expected to survive. The House had cut admin air budget by about 200 million, but conferees likely will retain much of the Senate increase. Also, Senate Investigating subcommittee Chair McClellan gave Maxwell Rabb more time to disclose cabinet secrets leakage details.
