President Johnson awaits crime bill decision from advisers
Johnson waits for a legal advisers report on signing or vetoing the safe streets and anti-crime bill. He has until Wednesday to decide, may let it become law without his signature. He plans to stay at the LBJ ranch and returns to Washington Wednesday for the Poor People’s solidarity march. He also monitors Eisenhower’s health at Walter Reed and seeks a Paris peace talks breakthrough. Kiesinger may visit for talks on East Germany travel restrictions.
