Gas blast injures Drake at Produce Co in Terre Haute
A gas explosion Friday at the D. W. Drake Produce Company at 124 South Fourth Street severely burned co owner Johnny Drake, 49, who was alone in the building. The blast blew out the storefront, left a crater in the sidewalk, and sparked a measured gas investigation by fire officials and the Terre Haute Gas Company. Drake was treated at Sinnin Hospital in fair condition for burns to the face arms and back.
