Widow of Blind Attorney Faces Murder Charge

The state prepared to present opening arguments in the first degree murder trial of Evelyn Mae Fuller, 31, charged with fatally wounding her sightless husband Wallace Fuller last March. The Vigo Circuit Court recessed with jury selection near completion as several jurors were excused and vacancies persisted in both regular and special panels.

Jailer Attacked In Bid For Liberty

Two inmates escaped Vigo county jail and were recaptured within four minutes after attacking Jailer Robert Smith with a cast iron pipe. Raymond Denbo and Billy Dee Majors surrendered after police tracked them to a spot near the jail.

Harriman Demands Taft-Hartley Overhaul From Administration

New York Governor Averell Harriman assailed Eisenhower appointees for anti labor bias in a speech to the merged AFL CIO labor group. General Motors Extends Dealers to Five-Year Contracts

Grand jury to hear infant death case in Vigo County

Vigo County Prosecutor John R. Jett said a grand jury will be summoned Friday to consider the State of Indiana versus Edward Leon Moore 22 of South Fourth street. Moore is charged with second degree murder for the death of his 8 month old son Edward Jr and is held on a 20000 bond. Deputy Bob Wallace will present the evidence.

Driver Dies In US 20 Rollover Near La Grange

Peter J. Mangano, 40, of South Bend, was killed Monday when his car failed to negotiate a curve on U. S. 20 seven miles west of La Grange. He was thrown from the vehicle and pinned beneath it.

Trib une Star Fund opens for Terre Haute Christmas baskets
