An advertisement extols Dr Harrells Nervine Lotion as rapidly relieving acute and chronic illnesses. It asserts instant pain relief and complete subdual of disorders from dyspepsia and asthma to neuralgia epilepsy and rheumatism, listing numerous body parts and conditions as treatable.
Dr Harrell presents six case summaries from Tarboro North Carolina in April 1841. Cases include a sprain relief after two minutes, a nervous headache cure, chronic rheumatism relief in three days, acute shoulder arthritis improvement in ten minutes, extensive facial ringworm destruction in two minutes, and neuralgic facial pain cured in twenty minutes. Dr Harrell and agent R T Allen advertise Maryland trained physician and local sale through George Howard.
Advert describes Peters Vegetable Pills as a life changing cure for many diseases including bilious fevers dyspepsia croup liver complaints sick headache jaundice asthma dropsy rheumatism piles female obstructions heartburn and more. Claims widespread cure and non irritant mild action. Pills sold at the Post office and Printing office in Tarboro 1841.
