Spotlight on poachers in New Mexico roadblocks
New Mexico Game and Fish officers launch hunting season roadblocks in Taos Region C units 48 through 53 from Friday September 29 to Tuesday October 10 to deter spotlighting and poaching. Officers may seize vehicles used in crime and auction them. penalties include fines, jail, weapon forfeiture, and loss of hunting privileges. Two trucks have already been seized in incidents near Holman Hills and between Ocate and Black Lake.

La Plaza wins grants and clears bylaws in Taos effort
La Plaza Telecommunity Foundation announced a $450 000 grant and a $449 999 NTIA grant to expand health care access via five Holy Cross Hospital clinics in Taos County. The group lifted a membership moratorium Oct 6 after reorganizing its bylaws with attorney help and plans to file them with the New Mexico State Corporation Commission.
