Archuleta sent to penitentiary for alcohol crash deaths
Kenneth Archuleta, 22, from Questa, will serve out the rest of his sentence in Santa Fe for vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated in the May 1980 crash on State Road 3 near Costilla that killed Manuel Martinez and Yolanda Moreno. He had been on probation with a no-drink condition when cited for drinking at a bar and attempting to smuggle beer into the county jail. The judge revoked probation and ordered the penitentiary term be completed by October 1982.

Two charged with theft in Taos wagon pelts case

Memorial services for Cinco Martinez and family held in Taos
Memorial services were conducted Saturday at Taos First Presbyterian Church for Michael Cinco Martinez Tanya Davisson Martinez and infant Larissa Martinez. Eulogist Jerry Griffin a cousin from Santa Fe paid tribute while details note Cinco born May 5 1950 in Taos and nicknamed Cinco. The family died in a New Year’s Eve plane crash near Truchas. Martinez worked for Hanna Mining Oregon Chevron Washington and joined Molycorp last July relocating to Taos. Tanya Martinez born in Oregon trained as a dental hygienist. Police report describe a van incident near Hall Creek Road resulting in arrestees Marty Fernandez and Al Riedmann detained by Jerome Marcus and Larry Rogers with bonds set at 4000 each.
