Taos Parish Bazaar Nets $3500 Plus Paintings Donated

Eagle Scout Richard Jeantete of Explorer Post 98 plans to attend the World Scout Jamboree in Valley Forge Pa as delegate. Local volunteers aided a two week Taos traffic study with 7,000 driver interviews across four stations. Indian Agency Honors Collier on 80th Birthday
Phillip Nash presented the Distinguished Service Award to John Collier at his Taos home ceremony honoring his 1934 Indian Reorganization Act leadership. Nash cited Collier as pivotal in civil liberties, tribal self government, and preservation of Indian traditions, with Collier crediting colleagues and Bureau officials present.

Judge McIntosh Named in New Mexico District Court
Navy veteran from 1942 to 1945 served in the General Court Martial section in San Diego. He was assistant district attorney of Santa Fe County for six years and city attorney for Santa Fe for ten. He chaired the State School for the Deaf board of regents for eight years, seven as president. His appointment runs through January 1965, with residence moved from Santa Fe to Raton in the Eighth Judicial District.

Fire on Pueblo Road Fire Near Haystack Owned by Pete Bernal
A Haystack on Pueblo Road owned by Pete Bernal caught fire at 11 40 a m on April 28. The blaze was blamed on spontaneous combustion and caused about 200 dollars in damage. Firefighters warned residents to watch their fires.

Light turnout at precincts as officials praise polling workers
