Obituary of Mary Whitaker Former Taos resident dies in Texas
Funeral services for Mary Gr. Whitaker aged 44, longtime Taos resident, were held Monday at St Francis Church in Albuquerque after her death in El Paso Texas on June 1. She is survived by husband Charles, daughter Rosalie Lopez of Albuquerque, mother Rosela Santistevan of Taos, brother George Santistevan in France, sister Amunda Gutierrez of Taos, four nephews Jimmy Laurence Zeke Tommy Santistevan, three nieces Vickie Cisneros Susie Christie Santistevan, pallbearers Lupe Lopez Charles Cichi Ralph Gutierrez Carl R. Moore George Sbdla, and attendees from Taos. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Albuquerque.

Chesley Speck 56 of Aspermont and Red River died June 14 at Holy Cross Hospital. A summer Red River resident for 30 years he built a Texas department store chain, later moving into real estate and abstracts. Survived by Blanche his wife and his mother Mrs Guy Speck. Funeral at First Baptist Church Aspermont burial in Aspermont Cemetery Hanlon Funeral Home arranged transport to Texas.

Juvenile Poacher On Probation Turns Over to Juvenile Officer
A juvenile arrested late month for shooting at Waterto was turned over to the Juvenile Officer at Ruidosn by Officer Charles Bird of the Game Department. Records show the boy had prior apprehension for killing a deer in a state game refuge. Since he was under age, no charges could be filed, but authorities assessed a fine of 39 dollars and paid 50 dollars.
