Senate approves act to fund women’s business centers in NM

Senate approval of SB1247 secures full SBA support for existing women’s business centers including WESST Corp. The bill increases sustainability funding from 30.2 percent to 36 percent as a short-term measure before FY2003 begins, protecting programs while newer centers in other states are expanded. Gunter Pauli to speak at SustainTaos reception program

International environmentalist Gunter Pauli will keynote the SustainTaos event in Taos, June 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Anglada's Building, with short films on sustainability and a Pauli presentation. The Taos Sustainable Systems Council launches the program to promote eco friendly energy, water, farming, and living systems. Pauli, founder of the ZERI Foundation and former Ecover CEO, leads global sustainability initiatives and has advised UNESCO.
