Taos paraglider dies after crash near Taos Ski Valley
Taos paragliding veteran Chuck Holden 41 died Friday after a flight from El Salto Peak veered into a field 17 miles northeast of Taos. Witnesses said he lost control during a descent into the valley. wind shear is suspected. Deputy responders found no time to deploy a parachute as a breeze was noted.

Death ruled from overdose after beer use in Taos
A Taos man 35 year old Steve Rodarte died after drinking beer and taking five or six Percocete pills. Police said he had no prescription for the pain killers. Friends found him unresponsive at his home after a night of drinking. Medical examiner reported he had been dead at least two hours. He is survived by his parents, brother, and extended family.
