Ranchos Elementary Connects to Internet for First Time
Ranchos Elementary linked to the Internet in one day with three miles of cable using help from Network New Mexico and Taos volunteers. Despite low turnout, staff secured enough volunteers and funds to reach the school library server. Next steps include purchasing Ethernet cards to boost speeds for student research projects. Local businesses donated funds and meals for volunteers. Netday drives nationwide classroom networking efforts.
