Burglary at Littrell’s Indian Shop Sparks Reward

Police investigated a June 1 burglary at Littrell’s Indian and Mexican Shop on Kit Carson Patio. A glass cutter access allowed thieves to remove $40,000 in jewelry and rugs then relock the door. No warrants issued yet. Chief Leach heads the probe with state and county officers. A $1,000 reward awaits information leading to arrests and convictions.

Migrant Education Classes Begin June 17 in Taos

Migrant education programs start June 17 at 9 a.m. at Taos Junior High School for English and mathematics. George A. Ortiz, director, says transportation will be provided from Arroyo-Seco to Ranchitos, Cordillera, and Taos Junior High. Youth Facing Larceny Charge in Taos Area

A Ranchos de Taos man awaits a hearing on larceny under 100 dollars. State Police arrested 20 year old Michael Garcia on June 7 and filed charges. He was released June 9 on a 200 dollar property bond posted by Tomas Garcia and Augustine A Montoya. Garcia must appear on demand in Justice C F Boyer's court.

Driving Charge Free On Bond After Arrest

Joe Antonio Gallegos, 23, was arrested on a driving while intoxicated and reckless driving charge. He was released on a $160 cash bond the same day, pending a hearing set by Justice C. F. Boyer. State Policeman Fred Encinias made the arrest. no hearing date was set.

Miss Leslie Grainger to Return for Summer Home

Miss Leslie Grainger will return from Kent School Denver for summer vacation at the home of her parents Mr and Mrs Dick I Grainger. She has been chosen to represent her school on the Pacesetter board for Denver PIs Outpost junior teenage shop 1968 69 and will help plan and model in fashion shows.
