Rainbow Family eyes Cruces Basin for summer gathering

Rainbow Family plans to summer north of Tres Piedras in the Cruces Basin of the Carson National Forest pending a final site decision. Spring Council officials are camped in the basin assessing sites as 5 000 to 20 000 people prepare for a roughly six week encampment starting the Fourth of July weekend.

Fifth annual Questa Fishing Fiesta At Eagle Rock Lake

LeEvan Sanchez and Joaquin Sanchez, ages 12 and 10, hand live earthworms to prepare for a rainbow trout catch at Eagle Rock Lake. Cerro man indicted on seven rape counts in Questa

Cerro man Charlie Martinez, 21, was indicted May 24 by a Taos County grand jury on four criminal sexual penetration counts in the fourth degree, two false imprisonment charges, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for alleged rapes in Questa on April 13. The incidents were reported days later. Martinez was arrested April 26, released April 28 on a $50,000 bond under house arrest. He faced violations of release conditions tied to a May 20 Monte Carlo Lounge party and May 23 witness presence, with further bond actions and defense motions filed through May 25.
