District official formed for Valle de Soa Ranchos Water District
District Judge Joseph Caldwell approved the Valle de Soa Ranchos Water and Sanitation District on Wednesday May 30, creating a new sub-government entity. Directors Delfino Torres Robert Daigh and Pauli Valerio sworn in June 4 and elected Torres chair Daigh vice chair Valerio treasurer. They plan an early meeting to choose a secretary and may add an advisory board after consulting attorney Tony Lopez. Torres has received a funding offer from the National Council of La Raxa for planning and engineering studies and will meet a council representative soon.

Highlands Taos Center to Offer 11 Summer Courses
Registration for 11 summer courses at Highlands Taos Center opens today June 7 from 6 90 to 7 45 pm at Taos High School and continues June 11 14 at Paseo Del Pueblo Sur offices. Classes start June 11 directed by Frank Torres with about 100 students expected. The resident center shifts from quarter to semester system this fall with autumn classes starting August 30.

Man Arrested After Laundry Dispute Turns Violent
J. McCaffery of Texas was arrested Saturday after a dispute at Rancho Park laundromat over a 14 cent overcharge led to a violent attack. Velestin Giron sustained injuries, and another patron suffered a racing bear related mishap during the altercation.
