Body found in Rio Grande near Gorge Bridge

A body was found Wednesday July 13 a few miles south of the Gorge Bridge in the Rio Grande. It was unclear if death was by suicide or foul play. The body appeared recently in good condition and not in the water long. Far Flung Adventures guide Bill Lynch reported seeing a balding Anglo man with torn clothes and secured the body to a rock near Yellow Bank rapids. A white SUV was observed near the bridge. Deputies and investigators planned to recover the body by raft, with possible overnight closure if needed. The Taos News will provide updates on taosnews.com.
