Youth Drowns While Trying Rescue in Rio Grande
Police and rescue crews suspended a search for Darin M. Vigil an 18 year old Arroyo Hondo man who vanished after diving into the Rio Grande Sunday to save Edwina Gonzales reportedly 16 who was swept into a current near the John Dunn bridge. Divers from state police county sheriff Arroyo Hondo volunteers and other agencies searched the river between the Rio Hondo convergence and Taos Junction as eddies and swift water hampered recovery efforts. Vigil wore hiking boots blue corduroy pants a maroon jacket and a headband reading love when he entered the water at about 5:20 p.m. Sunday with river flow around 2750 cubic feet per second. The search resumed Tuesday with no sign of Vigil.

Twining District Sets Zero Hookups For Year
