She leaves husband Juan Torres of Ranchos a son Albert Gonzales four daughters Amarante Trujillo Willie Trujillo Epifania Gar Ogden Utah and Benito Garcia Lake City Utah and four Manuelita Torres Mrs Clorinda Hartt Mrs Jevi Modi Mrs Refugio Gonzales of Ranchos and a brother Alfredo Romero Ranchos Burial followed at Liana Quemado Centers with pallbearers including dehz Salamon Jaramillo Trine Trujlla Eddie San idad Archuleta Dagnie Trujilo and Moress Gonzales Garcia Funeral Home handled arrangements.

The town skating pond in Wit Carson State Park will open for community ice skating at the next good freeze. Admission is free with rental shoes available for a small fee. The rink will be managed by Richard Haskell who will be paid 250 dollars for the season from town recreation funds. He promises.

Lighting Contest Winners Listed
The first Christmas Lighting Contest sponsored by the Women’s Division of the Chamber of Commerce drew over 50 contestants. First prizes of 50 dollars went to Mr. and Mrs. Meliton Trujillo for an outdoor shrine in the residential category and to Blue Door Gallery for its courtyard scene in the commercial category. Second and third prizes ranged from 25 to 10 dollars with several honorable mentions. Sponsors included Kit Carson Electric Co op and KKIT radio, with judging by local residents Milford Greer Arthur Merril and Martin Shaffer in the residential and Bistram and Mrs J P Brandenburg with Mrs Arthur Merrill in the commercial displays.

Robbery at Taos dress shop during heavy rain
