Fermin Arguello, lifelong Taos and Valdez area farmer and defender of land grant rights, died at 95 after hip surgery on Christmas Day. A son of hardship and a craftsman with ties to Los Alamos lab, he mentored family and community, balancing traditional New Mexican farming with modern needs. Funeral services set for Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
