Deborah Speicher, 41, and 13 peers completed UNM Taos School of Nursing inaugural program. Most will work locally at Holy Cross Hospital after passing boards. others pursue international or community nursing. The 18 month course, funded by a $337,000 grant, trains nurses for Northern New Mexico, with many graduates hired by Holy Cross and focused on Taos County.
