IRS to release new withholding tables in 1970
The IRS assures employers that new rates and tables for wage withholding will be issued as a 24 page supplement to the Employer's Tax Guide. Changes from the Tax Reform Act of 1940 would lower the surcharge from 10 to 5 percent from January to June and eliminate it from July 1. Officials urge timely adoption and note good faith efforts will count as substantial compliance.
