CAP continues on page one with Taos School system presence. Orlando Ortiz notes officials were unaware of the meeting. The Taos ESA financed project amounts to 418000 dollars for school construction and program enrichment.
Report notes many cars ditched and stalled amid snowy conditions. Death toll from traffic accidents in Taos County runs ahead of the 1964 total of six. Eleven persons have been killed in traffic accidents here this year, according to Doitehendt.
George Andrew Roth reports Taos becoming a focal point for American Indian music, with Tony Isaacs moving there to build a field-recording archive. Isaacs has gathered 509 hours of 6,000 taped items, plans an Institute of American Indian Music, and seeks support to broaden access to field recordings and preserve Pan Indian musical heritage.
Mr and Mrs Bill Schuetz and children Mark and Becky tour Tijeras Canyon for holidays with Mrs Schuetz parents the Andy Blacks. The Blacks recently returned from visits with relatives in Larned Garfield and Coldwater Kan Mr and Mrs Gerald Green also return from Texas trips visiting Mrs Gore at Muleshoe and Mr and Mrs Meyers at Abilene before stopping in El Paso on the way home.
