Filemon Sanchez a Taos County figure known as Don Filemon for decades died at 96 in St. Joseph's Hospital Albuquerque on December 15. He served as Taos town councilman mayor in 1966 helped acquire the current Town Hall and was a longtime county chairman. He worked as teacher clerk barber and businessman and also served 26 years as a court interpreter.
