Taos Ski Valley hosts the fourth annual Appreciation Ski Week January 17 to 22, organized by Not Forgotten Outreach to aid veterans, families, and Gold Star relatives. Discounts include $30 day passes, free rentals, and reduced lessons to ease costs, with a free appreciation dinner for 200 attendees on January 19 and 21.
DreamTree Executive Director Catherine Hummel reports the 2016 Festival of Trees raised over 19 000 for DreamTree and partner nonprofits including Big Brothers Big Sisters Bridges Project for Education Café Scientifique Rocky Mountain Youth Corps Twirl and Youth Heartline. Local businesses sponsors and volunteers supported the event and DreamTree plans to continue leading the effort.
