Carson wilderness survey draws big response statewide

The Carson National Forest briefed on a controversial wilderness survey for RARE 11 drawing intense out-of-state interest and strong local opposition. Unexplained powder linked to cattle mutilations eyed by lab

Schoenfeld lab found potassium levels 70 times normal in hides, and similar amounts in material from a Ranchitos track. Lab notes no natural air source for potassium and magnesium. oxidized paint possible but not ruled out.
