Taos Ski Valley votes to require sewer connections
The Taos Ski Valley Village Council approved a sewer connection ordinance on December 3 via a tie breaking vote by Mayor Neal King. The measure requires homes within 150 feet of sewer lines to connect within three years and sets rules for extending lines, cost sharing, and contingencies for distant properties. Critics cite ambiguity and demand a longer term plan, while fees for connection were reduced by 90 percent before the vote.
