Taos town council wrestled with funding for municipal programs including skating and basketball for juveniles, debated using funds for capital outlay, and tabled a legal expense increase. The Pueblo of Cochiti and the Corps of Engineers finalized an easement for 4069 acres of Indian land to conduct and maintain the Cochiti Dam and Reservoir project about 50 miles north of Albuquerque on the Rio Grande. The Pueblo will receive 145200 dollars plus rights to develop commercial and recreational facilities while operating public-use facilities built by the Corps. Ceremony is planned at Cochiti Pueblo on December 12 with New Mexico officials and Indian leaders attending. The project, expected to cost over 50 million dollars, aims to provide flood control and a 50000 acre foot permanent pool for recreation, potentially drawing 750000 to 800000 visitors by 1970 as the site integrates into New Mexico’s recreation program. The lake is planned near the original 1689 land grant, with the Pueblo relying on the initiative to generate income for economic and social development.
Animal Kingdom advertises six puppies in various colors and six kittens with mix of coat lengths and genders. Four prawn dogs and two grown cats available.
