Neighbors oppose potential shift from rural to commercial use. The delay tests the county s 18 month temporary zoning ordinance with workshop planned Aug 8 to address life quality and neighbor input standards.
Taos Ski Valley residents begin preliminary steps toward incorporation as a January election looms for even years. Administrative assistant John Ramming notes the process is tight, with petitions and signatures needed quickly, under the Twining Amizette and South Fork plan adopted April 30, 1971. An Aug. 13 meeting of the community association will discuss zoning options and possible incorporation, with a potential impact on Taos County tax and lodgers' tax bases.
