Solvay Post Office to test later delivery with new carrier plan

Solvay will shift 20 of 25 carriers to start later and deliver mail from morning to end of shifts, with five carriers staying inside to sort. The goal is faster business delivery using bar code sorting while rural carriers and P O box service remain unchanged. The experiment, modeled after 13 other locations, aims to speed mail and reduce sorting time, though some residents fear delays for pensions and checks.
