Federal inspector checked records at a Norfolk meatpacking plant seeking a link to tainted ground beef found in a Virginia grocer. Officials say the store mixed ingredients from several suppliers and there is no proof the contamination came from the plant. No illnesses reported, unclear where contamination occurred, and the case appears isolated. The Emporia store recalled 200 pounds of fresh ground beef sold Sept 3 and 4. Agriculture spokeswoman Jacque Knight said records indicate the beef originated at the Norfolk plant.
