Search Continues for Bodies in Esopus Creek Near Cold Brook
State police Ulster County deputy sheriffs and forest rangers enter the third day of a search for three elderly missing persons after a car reportedly plunged into Esopus Creek near Cold Brook Sunday night. The victims are tentatively identified as Elmer Vandeemark 63 Amelia Vandeemark 62 and Mary Terwilliger 70 all of Tabasco. Myron Terwilliger brother of the women reported they borrowed his car for a short trip. The creek feeds into New York’s Ashokan Reservoir which is up to 175 feet deep in places and the current may have carried the car toward the reservoir.

Eagles Transfer to U S Army Air Forces as Fourth Fighter Group
Three American Eagle squadrons of Britain's Royal Air Force were formally transferred to the United States Army Air Forces in the European theater to form the Fourth Fighter Group. August Sets Low Traffic Death Toll in U S
