Sacred Melody marks 40 years as Syracuse Christian shop
Forty years after its founding in a tiny South Salina Street storefront, Sacred Melody has grown into a 25,000 square foot Eastwood complex with satellite stores in Auburn and Whitesboro and a Rochester opening planned. The business, created by Charlotte Skinner and Wesley Skinner Sr. with family investment, became a hub for evangelical groups and Christian publishing, and its founders helped fund events and movements, from Billy Graham to Promise Keepers, while shepherding a broader Christian marketplace in Central New York.

Diana death sparks women to rethink if only dreams
In reflections on Princess Diana’s death, Dale Hanson Rourke argues women’s grief reveals a shared urge to escape the “if only” trap. The piece links media discourse, personal ideals, and religious parable to urge focus on others over vanity, suggesting healing lies beyond self.
