Red faced police searched for a stolen Binghamton Police car taken from in front of headquarters during Halloween prank. Detectives said the black 1957 sedan bore the words Binghamton Police on both doors and had a red blinker light.
ALBANY The accident death toll in New York State was comparatively low over the weekend with ten fatalities. Nine of the deaths occurred in traffic accidents, bringing the weekend total close to twenty.
Meetings continued in New York to forestall a Tuesday strike that would halt nearly all milk delivery in the metropolitan area. Five Teamsters locals bargain with about 150 milk companies for a new contract for 13 000 members. Current weekly wages run 90 to 105 dollars.
