Jesse H. Bartle, 69, of R D 2 Cazenovia, a painter, died when his sedan left the Syracuse Cazenovia highway two miles east of Manlius and hit a tree. Coroner Harry L. Gilmore said a heart attack may have caused loss of control. the crash was discovered by a passing motorist. Bartle, alone in the car, was believed headed to work.
In New York two holdup men shot payroll guard William Ward Jr 39 of the Bronx and robbed him of 3000 dollars. Ward was transporting funds from a Park Avenue firm to Bourjois Co in Long Island City when lured by a supposed job offer and driven to a vacant lot in Queens where he was wounded and left.

Jacobs 41 chairman of VA rating board No. 1 and office guard Emmett S. Crowe 60 were killed.
The United States will offer jet fighters and other postwar military planes to at least some American republics. The models include the I-80 Shooting Star the F-84 Thunderjet the F-82 Twin Mustang and the C-82 Packet. A formal statement will be issued by the State Department and the Air Force.

Six nations on the Security Council urged Russia to lift the Berlin blockade at once and asked the Western powers to end their counter blockade of the Soviet zone. They proposed Russia sponsored mark as the sole Berlin currency and called for a Foreign Ministers Council meeting on November 30 to resolve Germany issues. The plan was not immediately accepted and the meeting recessed until Monday.
