African American men from across the city gather for a march likely addressing civil rights issues. Organizers and participants include community leaders and local activists voicing demands for equality and justice.

Ron Jackson, a 40 year old restaurant cook and full time SUNY student, traveled by OCC bus to participate despite missing classes and work. The event, organized by Louis Farrakhan, promotes atonement and responsibility for blacks.
Rescuers resumed search at dawn for a second man presumed drowned after a fishing boat capsized Sunday during 8 to 9 mph winds at the entrance to Port Ontario on Lake Ontario. Four men were aboard. Edward Castracane Jr and Leo Hebert III survived, while Gary Mark and Steven Carpenter were found or missing after the incident near Oswego County.
Lucy Rizzo, 80, of 203 Elm Street, died after stepping into the path of an eastbound vehicle on Howlett Hill Road in Onondaga. Driver Mark Anderson, 24, and two passengers were unhurt. Sheriff’s deputies reported no alcohol or excessive speed. investigation ongoing.
