Western storms bring floods and heavy snow across plains
Thunderstorms battered the southern Plains and reached the lower Mississippi Valley. Flash floods forced about 230 people from their homes in Texas and Oklahoma while a winter storm dumped up to six inches of snow in parts of Wyoming and Yellowstone. Forecasters warned of lingering snow and showers across the intermountain region and the Mississippi Valley with clear skies expected elsewhere. Temperatures ranged from 25 to 81 across select cities overnight.
