Army Solves Puzzle Of Dog And Motorcycles
Fort MacArthur California October 13. A shepherd dog named King repeatedly fled his post whenever a motorcycle passed, ultimately jumping an eight foot fence and going AWOL for a second time. A man who found King with a motorcycle surrendered him to San Pedro police. King’s license tag helped identify his owner, Motorcycle Patrolman Orville Clutterham of Van Nuys. King is returned to the fort and confined to quarters for two days while trainer Sergt. Robert Pearce keeps a motorcycle nearby to discourage further attachments.
