Navy carrier misses fire kills five on Turkish ship

Reports indicate human error during NATO drills caused an accidental missile firing from a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier on Thursday, killing five sailors aboard a Turkish vessel.

Apple fest may crown king in 93

Syracuse men charged in separate murders police say

Syracuse police charged four people in two killings in separate incidents. Mary Bonacci who was found with multiple stab wounds was identified as the victim in the first case, while Belinda Bennett was shot multiple times in a second case.

Relief flights resume as Serb raids reported

Three U S Air Force planes carrying food and medicine landed in Sarajevo resuming the international airlift halted after a relief plane was shot down. Sarajevo radio said Serb warplanes bombed several towns into Friday night as Western allies pressed for a no fly zone. President Bush backed the idea, while Bosnian Serb officers warned they would fight if skies were closed. International relief had paused since Sept. 3 when an Italian aircraft was hit and crew died.
