Early-onset Alcoholism May Respond to Ondansetron Therapy
University of Texas researchers divided 271 alcohol dependent adults into four dosing groups of ondansetron or placebo, plus weekly therapy. Early-onset drinkers under 25 showed reduced consumption and higher abstinence with the drug, unlike late-onset drinkers.
