The National Weather Service at Hancock Airport warns of windy and rainy conditions. Winds shift from southeast to west with gusts, lows around the mid 30s, highs near 40. Precipitation chances are 80 percent tonight and 60 percent tomorrow with snow possible at higher elevations. Saturday looks fair, with a chance of rain or snow Sunday and Monday.
A tire and rubber plant fire in Findlay Ohio sent flames 50 feet above the roof and thick black smoke into the sky. No injuries were reported. The roof caved in at the north end. Firefighters battled the blaze for about four hours, gaining control at 8 45 a m.
South African gunmen seized an Air India jetliner with 792 aboard in Victoria Seychelles. Passengers released unharmed to South Africa while hijackers were detained. Gunfire at the airport wounded parts of the terminal as authorities described a coup attempt unfolding overnight.

The Rolling Stones touched down in Syracuse aboard a charter jet from Chicago with entourage and will perform at the Carrier Dome tomorrow and Saturday. Sound equipment arrives tonight and stage setup is underway by 3 to 4 a.m. Doors open 3:30 p.m. Molly Hatchet warms the show at 5:30 p.m. then the Stones around 8 p.m. Each night seats 43,000 fans.
