Deer crash on Route 5 kills Chittenango woman
A head on collision on Route 5 near Green Lakes State Park killed 63 year old Anne Mae Chappell of Chutes and injured three others. Stephen K. Altes 63 of Fayetteville swerved to avoid deer, struck Chappell’s eastbound car and caused the crash. Chappell died at the scene. Altes and his wife Doris were hospitalized in fair to good condition.
