Police investigate possible link between Patrolman Ralph Margiasso and a bingo game raided at John Venditti Post 1 Italian American War Veterans club. District Attorney Wiliam H. Bowers subpoenas Margiasso to appear. Grand Jury questions about 125 people. Margiasso to report as ordered.
The weather forecast for Thursday predicts a high around 47 degrees with cloudy skies and light snow flurries. Forecasters say little impact is expected from the snow.
Nassau County election official says a great quantity of ballots cast in the Long Beach municipal election on November 4 are missing and others have been tampered with.
A chartered Swedish freighter plane with 30 aboard including 20 Swedish military airmen crashed today in the Salerno mountains. Swedish diplomatic sources reported 20 killed.

Readnower, 30, of Dayton Ohio, testified before the Senate War Investigating Committee that Maj. Gen. Bennett E Meyers received 15,000 dollars a year as a salary from Aviation Electric Company during the war and until the firm dissolved in 1945. He said Meyers secretly owned the company and that 100 dollars a month was paid to him while Meyers served in the Army, with 15,000 dollars charged on the books but largely funneled to Meyers after taxes. Readnever also claimed delivering over 7,000 dollars in cash to Meyers in 1941 and that Meyers gave him 1,000 dollars.
